Charles de Gaulle is born in this house, at 9 rue Princesse, on November the 22th, in the year of 1890. This mansion typical of houses of Northern France belonged to his maternal grandparents. Today, it has become both a museum and cultural center, dealing with this illustrious personage of France.

The birthplace of Charles de Gaulle is divided into two parts (the small one or “right side” and the large one or “left side”). these two sides are connected by a piece located above the door, which allows movements between the two parts.
